Our Programs and Services
We believe that safe housing coupled with supportive services are critical to helping individuals and families make the progression from homelessness and domestic violence to stable, safe, and independent living.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
Through our seven programs plus additional services we provide individuals who are in need in Monterey County with emergency shelters, warming shelters, transitional housing, permanent housing, confidential safe housing, weekly case management, counseling, legal advocacy and support, continuing education, job training, and linkage to community resources.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS
We provide shelter and support services to survivors of domestic violence through the operation of two emergency shelters at confidential locations in the cities of Monterey and Salinas.
MOBILE OUTREACH SERVICE TEAM
Commonly referred to as MOST, this program is a mobile outreach program that distributes emergency food, clothing, and supplies to street homeless throughout Monterey County.
Provides homeless adults with a bed to recuperate following their stay at local hospitals. Supported by Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Natividad Medical Center and Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital.
CHINATOWN NAVIGATION CENTER
Provides overnight housing to 16 homeless individuals at a facility in downtown Salinas. Also, provides showers and other resources daily to homeless individuals in the area.
We offered over 110,000 bed nights to homeless persons and those fleeing domestic violence in 2018.
In calendar year 2018, we served a total of 1,194 women, children, and men.
